2010 Year in Review -- borrowed from everybody

Mail and other woes
I submitted an official USPS change-of-address form the first week of December. I didn’t do it immediately when I moved because I had paid for my rented mailbox through December 31, anyway. But I did do it — weeks ago. I also changed my address directly with the Social Security Administration. They sent me a confirmation letter, which I still have and even mentioned on this blog.

Even more annoying than debt collectors
I have received four (count ‘em — four) phone calls from a job placement agency in the past 24 hours. The same agency. And here’s the best part — they’re trying to hook me up with my last job. You know, the one that was completely misrepresented to me and that I left in a crying panic? Yeah, that one!

Shrink: I'll make some phone calls and see how quickly we can get this situation straightened out. I'm concerned about you being without your medication. I'm also concerned that offices will be closed because of New Year's, so I'd like to get this fixed before then.
Me: I highly doubt that we'll find any kind of solution before New Year's. Nothing's that efficient.
Shrink: It's possible! I will call our contact at DSHS and will call, too. I've left her a message already and she knows this is an emergency, so it could be resolved in a couple of days, I would think. And maybe some specialized pharmacy can help you, we just need to find it.

Wow, my debt collectors must read my blog and know that I got a new phone. I have received no fewer than five calls in just 20 minutes! The creepiest of which left me a message with no words, only music. It was this. I guess they want me to “wake up” and pay my bills.
