poetactics replied to your post: I wasn’t freaking out about this Google privacy…
I think it’s mostly if you’ve used a gmail address to sign up for other accounts then they’ll automatically link them (i.e. my blog will become connected to my google+ and my youtube accounts because i used the same gmail address to sign up)
That I can deal with because I’m fairly good at compartmentalizing myself on the internet. My YouTube/Facebook/Google+ all have the same gmail account and I don’t care who knows it. I am a member of some message boards I’d rather people not know about that I use my main gmail address for, though, but I don’t think that would show up.
I have a separate e-mail for this blog and for a few other things. But yeah.
Not really related, but I changed the name on my Google+ account to avoid stalker-jerk, but when I Google my real name, my Google+ account comes up even though it doesn’t have my real name on there. Google, I hate you.

Because Google personalizes search results, it’s possible that your Google+ account wouldn’t come up when other people Googled your name. Try it on a browser you don’t usually use to check.

sometimes i worry about how much google knows about me, especially considering how much financial stuff i’ve sent through gmail over the years. but it would be a huge effort to change to a new email :/
