you don’t live in a very good neighborhood do you?

I live in the gross part of a cheap, gross, artsy neighborhood. In general, I like my neighborhood, but I live in a crappy part of it.

When I tell rich or middle-class people where I live, they either have never heard of my neighborhood or they wonder why I would live in such a place.

When I was working, I lived in the poorest neighborhood in my county, and people would FREAK OUT when I told them where I lived. I got lots of weird looks and comments like “I hope you carry pepper spray with you at all times!”

That neighborhood was WAY calmer than my current neighborhood, but my current neighborhood has more of a reputation for being “artsy.” Okay, so once at my old apartment, a guy down the street from me got shot and the gun was hidden in the bushes outside my window, but at least there wasn’t an FBI raid.

I had a dream that littleorphanammo and I were neighbors in a really big, fancy apartment building where cats roamed the halls. The elevators had webcams in them, and we were taking pictures of ourselves with the cats, posting them to the internet, and pretending they were our own. I have no idea why.

I don’t usually remember my dreams unless they’re horrible, so this was a nice change.
