As far as TV theme songs go, this one is damn catchy. I barely remember this show, but I remember the theme song.

alohanico replied to your post: what new TV shows are you excited about?

I’m also upset by the steep decline in quality of the new 90210. If you enjoy teen drama, CW-style, The Secret Circle is pretty good. I’d also recommend the US remake of Prime Suspect, and Homeland.

I do not know anyone in meatspace who watches 90210, so I haven’t really discussed the decline with anyone. I’m glad to know I’m not the only to notice that this season is just AWFUL. The story with Liam and Jane and whatsisface is awful. And Adrianna — AWFUL. And Naomi and the sorority stuff and the southern guy— AWFUL. And Dixon’s story line was already done in Fresh Prince — AWFUL. And Navid, WTF are you doing? Just stop it, writers. I’m a couple of episodes behind, but what will probably happen is they’ll do something I find interesting and then I’ll keep watching. Every time I’m about to give up on it, they pull me back in!

I’ve heard Prime Suspect is good but I haven’t seen it. I’ll check out Secret Circle (I’m a sucker for certain kinds of teen drama). I know nothing about Homeland.

If I am ever transported into the universe of a TV show, please don’t let it be The Walking Dead

I would have said “Fuck this” and sacrificed myself at the first sign of the zombie apocalypse.

I certainly wouldn’t be examining zombie entrails, that’s for sure.

No, really. I just started watching Breaking Bad and I somehow watched eight episodes in about 24 hours. What is my life?

The was me with Californication this weekend. The only thing that put an end to the sloth-a-thon was that Netflix only has the first season available for streaming in Canada.

I did the same thing with Californication! At first I rented it, then I got tired of waiting for new DVDs to come out and I downloaded it (totally legally, of course cough cough). I’m all caught up now.

No, really, though. Breaking Bad is SO good. I’ll run out of Netflix episodes in a few days, I’m sure.

My greatest accomplishment in this time I haven’t been working has been all the TV I have managed to watch. My slothdom has reached incomprehensible heights.

Today’s TV binge consists mostly of Lockup: Indiana State Prison —Extended Stay. It’s surprisingly addictive. I especially enjoyed the episode where the death row inmates got kittens.

I also learned how to make hooch.

Twin Peaks 2x17 - Wounds and Scars

SHELLY Miss Double R Diner, what would you do to bring about world peace? Well, I would bring all the world leaders together, make them form a circle and join hands. Cause you can’t make a fist holding hands.

For those of you who watched Miss USA last night.

AV Club's review of The Killing finale "Orpheus Descending."

It might as well be called “Why I’m Annoyed Right Now.”

I’ve never made it through the “Previously on Gossip Girl” part of that show without wanting to bitchslap every single character.

Yet, I can watch 90210. Hey, this episode had Sebadoh and Janelle Monae music, and a vindicated Silver, so that’s all good.

This gif depicts one of my earliest childhood memories. I know I’ve seen several episodes of The Love Boat, but I don’t remember anything about it. I just remember this 1.5 second clip from the credits.

I actually had plans to hang out with a bunch of nerds tonight, but I forgot because I’m a basketcase. Instead, I’m at home watching an offensive episode of 90210. Don’t hate, I’ve been watching Doctor Who on Netflix Instant, too. And READING — imagine that.

wildunicornherd replied to your post:I’m still not used to watching TV shows when they…

I never had cable till I moved to this building (comes with the place). So what do I do? Watch the sci-fi channel 99% of the time. Ah, Tumblr: watching TV so I don’t have to.

Cable comes with my place, too. I keep forgetting about SciFi SyFy, which was my favorite network back in the day. I’d kind of forgotten it existed. And it’s close to AMC, which shows The Killing. Woo!

I’m still not used to watching TV shows when they air. If it weren’t for Tumblr, I wouldn’t even know when shows come on. I’m not getting some newfangled DVR thingee. I’m just glad I have you guys for this and other reasons.

I also don’t know what channels are what. Until I lived in my current apartment, I never lived anywhere (in my post-college adult life) with more than three channels. In most of my apartments, I would only get FOX (local channel 13) and everything else was just static. I have a vague idea of what network something is on (NBC, ABC, etc.) but I have NO IDEA what channels those correlate to— unless it’s on FOX, then I know. My last apartment had the most channels — I got a clear FOX, a fuzzy UPN, and a pretty worthless attempt at ABC. I would try to watch Lost and hope that Sun and Jin didn’t have a big storyline that episode because subtitles were illegible. I missed a bunch of visual cues, too. After the digital conversion, I became a Hulu girl.

I have quite a lot of channels now but I don’t know what they are. I feel really stupid when I scroll through the channels and see KIRO, KOMO, or KING because I don’t know what that means unless they show a separate logo. I find myself Googling “Seattle television listings” more than is probably healthy.

Finally watching The Killing

So far, it’s good. I’ll like it a lot more when I get over my Seattle snobbery. It’s really strange to watch a television show that takes place where I live. They call it “Seattle,” but it’s obviously Canada and everything looks all weird. They throw in some odd local references to make it good, but they’re weird, too. Why would some Mercer Island kid go to a bar in Tukwila? No one does that. I don’t even think that people in Tukwila go to bars in Tukwila, even if they’re underaged and don’t have many places to go. That was not Discovery Park, and they got the rain completely wrong. None of that matters, I know. I obsess over details in nearly every aspect of my life. I always miss the forest for the trees, as they say.

It’s also depressing me, but I’m watching it anyway. Now I can continue watching it tonight!

Wow, my life is empty. Really, really empty.
