Wasn’t their mom British or something? Maybe they got some weird half accent.

I don’t buy it. My parents were both foreigners, and I sound like a Californian — though my Scottish cousin said I had “a bit of a lilt.”

Even so, many of the characters have “weird” almost-British accents.

Ooh, that probably means you could ride an extra cute bike made for a teenager or something, right

I am currently looking into that. After measuring my inseam, I have determined that I need a bike with a 15” frame, and even the teenager bikes are often bigger than that. Maybe I can get one with a banana seat! I’m basically the same height I was when I was 11, so I could probably get a similar bike.

womanofkleenex replied to your post: I went on my first trip to a Forever 21 store…

It’s good to go and see what size you wear, and then you can use the internet. Forever 21 is only ok during times when no one else shops.

That was the main purpose of my trip. I actually found a couple of things I wanted to buy, and that’s when I noticed the missing debit card. It was REALLY loud and REALLY crowded and for some reason they had closed off two of the three dressing areas. The store takes up three floors and they have a dressing room on each floor. There was a sale and there were just tons of people everywhere and I had to wait in a really long line just to try on my clothing.

Their clothes do run smaller (as I suspected) and a lot of them make my arms look horrible. BOO. I found some cute shirts, though. And a dress that would have been cute if I got some plastic surgery.

womanofkleenex replied to your post: I lost my debit card. Sigh. I do this every couple…

I once lost my entire wallet. Poof! No trace. It never showed. No one ever tried to use any of the cards, nothing. It just straight disappeared. I even had a friend come upend my apartment, nothing.

That is pretty amazing! I once lost a credit card that way. At least with the debit card I think I accidentally leave them in the ATM every couple of years, but I have no idea where that card went. I used it at a shop, and an hour later it was gone. I hadn’t left it anywhere I’d been, and no one used it.

Once I lost a whole wallet in an airport during a layover, and it just so happened to be in the city where my Jerkface relative lives (this was back in the ’90s, y’know, back when I was in touch with him). I was in the airport for an hour or two and I didn’t really do anything. I guess they saw the name on my ID and looked up local people with that name. I don’t know why on earth they would do that, as it’s really a coincidence that I was even there. Fortunately, my last name is really rare. They called him and told him my wallet was there, and then he called me to tell me to call them. The airport people sent it back to Seattle on a plane :D

Write an essay or story? And then another, until you have a book? Incremental goals, etc.

Yeah, I started something like that and it petered out. I should get back at it. It actually started as a list, and I don’t even think I finished that.

Hmm, I need to work on my attention span and follow-through.

She sounds pretty awesome. I mean, T-Rex dolls. You can’t beat that.

She also made zombie-themed greeting cards. WHY DIDN’T I TALK TO HER MORE?

You could give her a haircut, but it would probably be humiliating.

I have clippers and I’m not afraid to use them. I have shaved her before, but only when she has managed to get knots. I’ve never shaved her butt, and that’s the main problem area now.

I never even shaved her much. This picture was taken around the last time I shaved her. You can kind of see where I did it — near her back leg.

Please don’t reblog this picture even though it is amazingly cute.

Ugh! You and me both. I think I have learned how to choose friends over the past few years, but I still will just like, feel guilty about friendships dissolving even when the other person was objectively awful.

It’s the worst. I was friends with this woman for over three years, and I didn’t like her at all for probably 2/3 of that time. I didn’t end the friendship until I lived with her for a month and realized that she was completely deranged.

Then of course, when I *do* choose friends they end up having secret drug addictions and stealing from me or they just stop talking to me with no explanation whatsoever, so maybe hanging out with jerks is a better alternative.

Dude, you should just hang around your local university, looking for graduate students to be friends with.

A lot of the people in my little nerd posse are grad students, and that works, but even they’re a bit high-class. I’m a lowlife! I feel the need to impress them (or not be completely rejected by them) by reminding everyone that I WENT TO GRAD SCHOOL TOO and I USED TO WORK AT THESE CORPORATIONS THAT YOU HAVE TOTALLY HEARD OF!

Why aren’t there more cool super-poor people?

I have serious business foot problems. Flat feet, high instep, wide feet. Some of the styles run big. I got the ones covered in rhinestones, and I took a 9. I usually a wear a 10.5WW or an 11.

That sounds similar to my issue. I have really wide feet (WW at least) and my feet are tiny (5.5). My left foot is a problem. I don’t even know what’s wrong with it. It looks fine when you look at it, but my toes point too far to the left. Like, if I wear soft leather shoes they will form little bumps on the side to the outline of my toes, but only on my left foot. It’s weird. And I have a high instep — but only on my left foot. And because of those problems, I got a small bunion — yep, on the left foot.

So, shoes hate me.

Fitflops are seriously awesome. Sometimes they have them on 6pm or Amazon for less money. They’re soft and have arch support.

I am looking into these now. I have really weird feet and have always had problems finding shoes. I can pretty much only wear clunky shoes and boots.

It’s because she’s totally punk rock. Is she dating the drummer yet?

According to TMZ, they’re just friends.

I’m just glad that she’s spayed (though I’m sure she’d be past reproductive age, anyway).

I just want a pet that can learn its name that T isn’t allergic to. The lizard is great and all, but he’s basically pure id, and not even a very smart id.

Rats can learn their names.

I have a friend who is allergic to every animal except gerbils. Has he had allergy tests?

Reptiles are weird. I don’t dislike them, but dammit, they aren’t cuddly.

I totally read an article a while back about a rat that was trained to detect a woman’s back spasms before they got really bad (she had nerve damage and couldn’t feel them, which resulted in a lot of ER visits).

That’s awesome! Rats can be trained to do all kinds of amazing things. There are rats that have been trained to detect tuberculosis and rats that have been trained to detect land mines!

It’s like they know who you are deep in your heart. This reminds me that we watched “The Little Girl Who Lives down the Lane” last night, and it was excellent.

That is the last movie I watched! I had never seen it before, but I watched it a couple of days ago. I loved it. I think that’s why I am now being recommended dark movies about dysfunctional families!
